So this is the email I send to him. And yes I am also going to call him next week....
The email he sent me. Inspired me to continue to help people. I hope my response is helpful for you too. As in it I detailed everything that I have done to reverse my Type2Diabetes and the research that backs it up for you too.
Happy to chat through this as well but will email to start off with - as then you have a note of everything already.
As this is a LONG email. Which with your blessing I will turn into a blog post for the website - with your name changed (of course...) So.... To start off with...
I have some good new and some bad news.
But the bad news is that - some people won't be able to reverse their Type2Diabetes. And you might be one of them. AND... that to be honest - reversing #Type2Diabetes is THE HARDEST THING I have ever done in my life. And I have put my body through a lot. Let me tell you. But that's another story or two. What I can definitely say is it's really hard. Not the information that I will give you in this email. Hopefully that and the top tips (or three keys as I call them) will make understanding what do to easy.
But it's the actual doing it that's hard. So that's that cleared up. And before we begin.
Let's clear up another couple of big points.
But don't just listen to me. Read all about the newest research and how and why it works.
Second. I am NOT a doctor. And so this advice is ONLY based on what I have researched and my own life experiences. That being said I have reversed my Type 2 Diabetes. Which most doctors can't say they have done. But that's another thing. However, from a medical POV - your condition could be completely different from mine. And your circumstances are.
In fact, EVERYBODY is different.
And I use those words carefully. EveryBODY is different.
Not just everyone is different. Which means what worked for me might not work for you.
However, the basic of having "high blood sugar". Which is what Type2Diabetes IS is pretty much the same for everyone. So to bring high blood sugars down.
Second, MIGHT HAVE TO LOSE 15% OF YOUR BODY WEIGHT and FAT.
The work of Professor Roy Taylor and Mike Lean can be researched here.Even if like - me you didn't think you looked overweight. It's all about different types of fat, how people store it and where around your organs.
What I found worked for me is the following:
Losing the 15% of body weight as quickly as possible. We did so using the Extante diet shakes.
Consuming only 800 calories a day. 4 shake replacement meals. Having lots of water. And coffee.
If you would like to do this - you have to do so with medical supervision. Crash diets do work.
As for the products we used - I have a link for you to get 40% off the Exante diet products we used.
Doing this extreme diet - away from my family at a medical supervised retreat. Meant my blood sugars came down in 4 weeks. I never took medicines. And it's was the basis of me starting a petition to change the way that doctors treat Type2Diabetes in the UK.
And why I started www.BeFreeOfType2D.co.uk to help people reverse Type 2 Diabetes like I did.
However, this approach is NOT for everyone. And might be impossible for many people. Which is why it might be better for you to do something else.
To maintain and mange my blood sugars from then and to be able to say I reversed my Type 2 Diabetes. I kept on the shakes for another 4 weeks. Whilst at home - this was the hardest part.
I then re-introduced food - but NOT how I was eating before - as this created the situation that was killing me. A liver that was 27.3% fat. Between 2 - 3% is healthy! So I was killing myself.
Without knowing it.
I had to do a whole lifestyle change.
Which is based on the three keys in the book. And to be honest - it's why MOST people who could reverse their Type 2 Diabetes - probably won't. Not just because of the diet and the losing weight but the social and cultural side of life. And maybe the lack of support.
The three keys to it are Body, Mind and Spirit.
And it is up to your own circumstance to find out which one is hardest for you.
Or which one is easiest.
Go low carb - not no carb. Nothing processed. No sugars. Change your body and blood.
- And definitely cut out sugar. Always check the label on food.
- If it says sugar anywhere you can't have it.
- Easy rule of thumb. No food item can be eaten that is made with more than five ingredients on the label.
- And you can't eat anything before 8am and after 8pm.
- Also no booze at all for two months.
Exercise little and often. 10 mins per hour. Every hour. Change your mind about exercise.
- There is no need to go to the gym. In fact, going to the gym is a bad idea in the first two months.
- So get 10,000 steps in - but doing a small amount of walking each hour.
- If his isn't possible then think how else can you get your body to move?
- You have to change your mind about how you view and use your body.
- Things like Yoga and Pilates might be the answer for you. As well as gentle walking.
Sleep, meditate and drink more than you think. You have to change your spirit.
- The hardest key for me. Is sleeping more than 8 hours per day to help you regenerate.
- Learning how to become mindful and to start to meditate.
- Drinking 3 litres of water a day during the first 8 weeks. From then on try to always drink 2 litres.
- And not drinking any booze (during the first 8 weeks) and less forever afterwards.
- And no drinking coffee after 12 o'clock noon.
- You also have to not work as hard, be nicer to other people and be nicer to yourself. And perhaps even a bit more selfish.
- Giving your body time to fix itself. Taking time to cook.
- Not watching TV. And not being on your phone late at night.
There is a books worth of research and other stuff to go through, but these are the key points. And one more thing...
Sadly, for legal reasons I have to say that this is NOT medical advice. I am not a doctor. I am just a guy that partied and worked too hard and got Type 2 Diabetes.
I didn't look after myself. But by working in TV and for the BBC and ITV I met some amazing people and learnt how to reverse my own #Type2Diabetes.
I hope XXXXXXX that this email - maybe now printed out by your family - helps you do the same.
If you and your family could sign the petition I made I would be most grateful to help doctors change the way they treat this condition.
As just like you - I don't want anyone else getting it - from the next generations. And sadly already 4 million people in the UK do!

Added in bit....
Please remember that this is ONLY for reversing your Type2Diabetes and not about living healthily or any other health problems. I have reversed my Type 2 Diabetes - I have NOT become healthy. We have only just started that journey. And there might be a few more twists and turns yet...
